Today…

There was a gentleman on the train today with an ancient iPod. Seriously, it looked like it was Generation I, and I stress that Roman Numeral I just used because it makes much more sense that way. It was old.

I found it funny for a few different reasons

1) I don’t have an iPod at all.

2) I refused to get one at all and vaguely considered a Creative Zen or Zune but realized that I don’t like spending money.

3) I am broke, he looked homeless and he had an iPod. I couldn’t be sure that his was working (as I didn’t hear any music, but it IS the train people) but I was still a little jealous inside.

I decided that I really do need an easy way to listen to CDs that I have to review for Broken Dial, but I am a cheapskate: I asked the IT guy at work, who happens to have worked at TekServe here in NYC, if he would be able to take a look at see if he could refurbish Tracy’s old one. It’s not an ancient piece of crap, but he was happy to see the buttons about the click-wheel again. I liked the bulkier, less sexy iPod, but maybe that is just me.

For what I do, I just need something to store a few albums on at any given time. I don’t need anything pretty with games and colors and videos. I have other things for gaming and coloring: Game Boy and coloring books/crayons. Seriously, I am hoping he can make this happen.

Fingers crossed.
